Measure the space, then the furniture
Start from the room and the furniture plan, not a standard size. Note where seating legs should land, how far a rug must clear a dining table, and any thresholds or transitions. The final dimensions follow the plan, not the catalog.
Specify fiber and weave deliberately
Choose the fiber for the room's demands — seagrass or sisal for traffic, wool or alpaca for softness, fique for an earthy natural foundation — and the weave for the look. With a handwoven rug, both are choices, not constraints.
Confirm dimensions, border, and finish
