Natural Fiber Rugs for Interior Designers: The Terra 203 Trade Program
Handwoven fique, the Colombian sisal, plus wool, baby alpaca and metal-accent rugs, woven to order in any size for your projects. Trade pricing on request, samples when you need them, and a showroom by appointment in Wellington, Florida.
Terra 203 is a trade-only importer. We do not sell to homeowners directly, which means your client will not find the rug you specified at a lower price online, and it means every part of how we work is set up around the way a design studio actually runs a project: drawings first, samples next, then a rug woven to the exact dimensions on the plan. This page explains who the program is for, how an order moves from first email to installed rug, and what support you can expect along the way.
Who qualifies
The trade program is open to professionals who specify or resell furnishings:
- Interior designers and design studios, residential or commercial.
- Architects handling interiors or full-service projects.
- Decorators and stylists working on client homes.
- Home stagers who need durable, neutral pieces that photograph well.
- Retailers and showrooms with a valid resale certificate.
We ask for a business name, a website or Instagram, and for retailers a resale certificate. There is no minimum order and no annual commitment. If you are a homeowner who has found this page, we would be glad to work with you through your designer.
How it works
- Contact us. Send a note through the contact page, email, or call or text (561) 222-1548. Tell us about your firm and the project you have in mind.
- Catalog and trade pricing. We reply with the current catalog and trade pricing for the fibers and constructions you are considering.
- Samples. Request fiber swatches or weave samples to review with your client and against your other finishes.
- Custom size and color quote. Send the dimensions, the weave and the palette. We confirm the quote and the current lead time in writing.
- Woven to order in Colombia. Your rug is handwoven by artisan partners in the Andean region, then finished and inspected before it ships.
- Delivery. We deliver to Florida projects and ship nationwide. You or your installer receive the rug ready to unroll.
Most studios find the quote stage is where we add the most value. We will tell you if a weave is wrong for a room, if a size will fight the furniture plan, or if a color reads differently in strong South Florida light than it does in a swatch.
Samples program
Swatches are available on request. A typical sample set includes the natural fique tones, a few dyed colors from the current palette, and small cuttings that show the difference between a flatweave, a basketweave and a herringbone. Metal-accent samples show how copper or stainless threads sit inside the fiber, which is hard to judge from a photo. If you are presenting to a client, tell us the direction of the scheme and we will put together a set that makes sense for it rather than sending everything. The journal has a guide on presenting rugs to clients if that is useful.
Custom sizes and shapes
Every rug is made to order, so there is no standard size list to work around. Common requests include oversized living room rugs that extend under all the seating, long hallway runners, dining rugs cut to clear the chairs when pulled out, rounds for breakfast nooks and entry halls, and pairs of matching bedside rugs. Odd proportions and large formats are normal for us. Share the room dimensions or a furniture plan and we will suggest a size, or confirm yours. For the method we use, see the designer's guide to custom rug sizing and our custom size rugs page. Lead times vary with the season and the construction, so please ask for current lead times when you request a quote rather than planning around a number from an older project.
Materials at a glance
Fique, the Colombian sisal
A leaf fiber from the agave family, hand-processed in Colombia. It gives you the sisal look with a softer hand and strong wear resistance. Our core fiber. Read more on the sisal rugs page.
Wool
Used alone or blended with fique for warmth, resilience and a slightly softer footfall in bedrooms and living rooms.
Baby alpaca
Fine, lustrous and light. Specified for low-traffic rooms where softness and sheen matter more than toughness. See alpaca and fique blends.
Copper and steel accents
Fine metal threads woven into the fiber for a subtle shimmer that reads differently through the day. Explore metal-accent rugs.
Spec support for your presentations
We can supply fiber information sheets, a one-page care card for your client, and plain-language notes on construction and origin that you can drop into a presentation or a specification binder. Care guidance lives on our rug care page, and the background on the fiber is in the fique explainer. If a client asks about sustainability, the honest version is simple: fique is a plant fiber, it is processed with low water use, and each rug supports artisan income in rural Colombia. We do not make claims we cannot show.
Showroom by appointment, Wellington, FL
Our showroom in Wellington is open by appointment for designers who want to see full-size rugs and handle the fibers. We regularly meet designers from Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Miami, and we can bring samples to your studio or a job site in those areas. For studios elsewhere in the country, the samples program and a video call cover most of what an appointment would.
Frequently asked questions
Who qualifies for the Terra 203 trade program?
Interior designers, architects, decorators, home stagers and retailers with a valid resale certificate. We sell to the trade only; homeowners are welcome to work with us through their designer.
Is there a minimum order to open a trade account?
No. A single custom rug for one project is a normal first order. Trade pricing applies from the first piece and is shared on request once we know a little about your firm.
Can I get samples before specifying a rug?
Yes. Fiber swatches and weave samples are available on request so you can check color, hand and texture against the rest of your scheme before placing an order.
What sizes and shapes can be woven?
Any size, including long runners, rounds and unusual proportions. Each rug is woven to order in Colombia to the dimensions on your drawing. Ask us for current lead times when you request a quote.
Do you deliver outside Florida?
Yes. We are based in Wellington, Florida and deliver across Palm Beach County and South Florida, and we ship nationwide for projects anywhere in the United States.
