Terracotta and beige basketweave diamond handwoven area rug by Terra 203, a warm natural fiber design suited to home décor and coastal retail floors

Terra 203 imports handwoven natural fiber rugs from Colombia and sells them through two channels: a trade program for interior designers, and a wholesale program for retailers who resell to their own customers. This page is for the second group. If you run a home furnishings store, a design showroom, a resort or coastal gift shop with a décor floor, or an online store, and you hold a resale certificate, here is what we supply, how wholesale differs from the designer program, and how to open a conversation.

What we supply

Our core product is the fique rug. Fique is the Colombian cousin of sisal, a leaf fiber from the agave family that gives the sisal look with a softer hand and a warmer natural tone. Around it we offer a short, coherent range:

  • Handwoven fique rugs in natural tones and dyed colors, in flatweave, basketweave, herringbone, twill and diamond constructions. See the rug collection for the current directions.
  • Wool and wool-fique blends for a softer footfall in bedrooms and living rooms.
  • Baby alpaca pieces for stores whose customers want softness and sheen in low-traffic rooms.
  • Metal-accent rugs with copper or stainless-steel threads woven into the fiber.
  • Runners and custom sizes. Hallway and stair runners, rounds, and any rectangular format a customer asks for, because every rug is woven to the dimensions on the order.

The rugs are made by artisan weavers in the Andean region and finished and inspected before they leave Colombia. The craft page explains the fiber, the looms and the process in more detail, and the our story page covers how the business came to be.

How wholesale differs from the designer trade program

The designer trade program is built around one project at a time: a drawing, a sample set, a single rug woven to a room. There is no minimum and designers order as projects come up.

Wholesale is built around assortment and volume. A retailer typically opens with a curated group of sizes and colorways chosen to work together on a floor or a product page, then reorders and adds custom requests as customers respond. Because of that, wholesale pricing is structured differently from trade pricing, and it is shared privately once we know your store, your customer and your opening volume. We do not publish wholesale or trade numbers on the site; ask us and we will send them.

In short: designers specify, retailers stock and resell. If you do both, for example a design studio with a retail storefront, tell us and we will set you up in the way that makes sense.

Made to order, and what that means for a retailer

We do not run a warehouse of finished rugs waiting for a buyer. Each piece is woven when it is ordered. For a retailer this has two consequences worth understanding up front.

The first is flexibility. You can offer customers a rug in the size and color they actually want without carrying it in inventory, which is a real advantage for a small store competing with national chains on a standard 8 x 10. Floor samples and a swatch board do the selling; the rug itself arrives woven to the customer's room.

The second is timing. Lead times depend on the season, the fiber and the construction, and they change through the year. Ask for current lead times when you place an order or plan a seasonal buy, and tell us if you have a delivery date in mind so we can sequence the weaving around it. Retailers who plan a quarter ahead have the smoothest experience.

Packaging, labels and care cards for resale

Every wholesale rug ships rolled and wrapped, with fiber content and country of origin labeling and a printed care card written in plain language for the end customer. The care card mirrors the guidance on our site: vacuum weekly, keep the rug dry, blot spills, never steam or soak. We can supply fiber information sheets for staff training, product photography for your website, and short copy describing the fiber and the artisans behind it. If you need a hang tag or label format specific to your store, tell us when you open the account.

Drop-ship on request

Online retailers and stores that sell from floor samples often prefer the rug to ship directly to the customer. We can usually arrange this. Ask us about drop-shipping when you set up your account and we will confirm how it works for your order volume and the regions you serve. We ship across the United States; request a quote for freight on a specific order.

Who wholesale suits

  • Home décor and furniture stores that want a natural fiber rug line with a story and a custom-size option.
  • Design showrooms serving walk-in clients and local designers who need a floor sample to specify from.
  • Coastal and resort retail in Florida, from Palm Beach and Jupiter to Naples and the Keys, where sand-friendly flatweaves in blues, tans and greens move quickly.
  • Online retailers who want made-to-order rugs with good photography, honest fiber information and a drop-ship option.
  • Hospitality buyers and property stylists furnishing rentals and second homes in quantity.

Opening a wholesale account

  1. Write to us. Use the contact page, email [email protected], or call or text (561) 222-1548. Tell us about the store, the customer you serve and the kind of assortment you are considering.
  2. Resale certificate. Send a copy of your current certificate so we can set up the account correctly.
  3. Catalog and wholesale terms. We reply with the catalog, wholesale pricing and current lead times.
  4. Samples. We send swatches and, where useful, a floor sample so your staff can sell from something real.
  5. Opening order. We agree on an assortment, confirm sizes and colors in writing, and the weaving begins.

Retailers in South Florida are welcome to visit our showroom in Wellington by appointment to see full-size rugs and handle the fibers before committing to an order.

Frequently asked questions

Who qualifies for Terra 203 wholesale pricing?

Retail stores, design showrooms and online retailers with a valid resale certificate in their state. We also ask for a business name, a website or storefront, and a short description of the customer you serve so we can suggest the right assortment.

Is there a minimum wholesale order?

Wholesale is built around assortment rather than a single rug, so we discuss a sensible opening order with each retailer based on the store and its floor space. Ask us and we will share the current wholesale terms privately.

Are the rugs made to order or held in stock?

Every rug is handwoven to order in Colombia. That lets a retailer offer custom sizes and colors without carrying deep inventory. Lead times vary with the season and the construction, so please ask for current lead times when you plan a buy.

Can you drop-ship to my customers?

In many cases, yes. If your store or website sells a rug and you would like it shipped directly to the end customer, ask us when you open your account and we will confirm how it works for your volume and locations.

Do wholesale rugs come with labels and care information?

Yes. Rugs ship with fiber and origin labeling and a plain-language care card that you can hand to the customer. We can also supply fiber information sheets and product photography for your website or in-store signage.
